A message to the Denison community:
Dear Colleagues,
We are saddened to announce that former Denison faculty member Dan Leavell, husband of long-time Denison employee Sarah Leavell, died at his Granville home this past weekend.
Dan was a Denison faculty member in the Department of Geology from September 1980 to February 1987. He was a retired/Emeritus member of the Earth Sciences Department at The Ohio State University, Newark where he taught for many years. Dan’s wife, Sarah, retired in July 2016 after 27 years of service with Denison. At the time of her retirement, Sarah was a Senior Associate Director of Admission. Dan was a wonderful member of the Denison community and will be greatly missed by all of us who had the honor of knowing him.
A service will be held this Saturday, June 24, 2:00 pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (107 E Broadway, Granville) with a gathering following the service.
Our thoughts are with Sarah and her family and friends.
