The Tuesday Lunch Series welcomes Hollis Griffin, assistant professor of communication and queer studies, presenting “Joe Biden Grabs Back: Gender, Anger and Internet Memes after the 2016 Election.” In contemporary U.S. politics, anger is a potent force that cements new communities even as it fractures others.
In this presentation, Griffin looks at social media content that circulated during and after the 2016 U.S. Presidential election in order to parse out the relationships it forges between gender, activism, and political culture online.
