OSU Physics/Astronomy Professor and NASA Astrophysicist Dr. Michael Stamatikos leads an exploration of the fundamental physics associated with multi-messenger astronomy featuring photons, neutrinos, and gravitational waves in the context of astrophysical particle accelerators. Experimental results include major scientific discoveries from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope, IceCube Neutrino Observatory, and Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO). Topics will include dark matter/energy, gravitational lensing/waves, cosmic rays, Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs), binary compact mergers of neutron stars/super-massive black holes, and Blazars/Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN).

We hope you can join us for this informative presentation.
