Denison University announces that Rajesh N. Bellani will join the college as assistant to the president for strategic initiatives. Bellani will provide critical support as Denison launches major initiatives outlined its new strategic plan that further supports faculty and staff as mentors, expands the curriculum and creates the gold standard in career readiness, as well as enhancing efforts related to co-curricular learning, innovation, diversity and wellness.

Bellani brings extensive experience to this newly created position at Denison. Currently he serves as the dean of experiential learning and career planning at DePauw University’s Hubbard Center for Student Engagement, where he has administrative oversight of several areas, including career services, service learning courses, national awards and fellowships, in addition to alumni support and residency programs. Previously, Bellani served at the Rhode Island School of Design as international recruitment director, associate provost and dean of students. He also worked at Colgate University in a number of administrative positions.

“We are thrilled that Raj will join our Denison team as we put our exciting strategic plan into action,” said Denison University President Adam Weinberg. “Raj brings a skill set that beautifully complements the success we are achieving in these initiatives that ultimately serve to educate our students and give them the technical knowledge and resources to launch into their professions and lives of civic responsibility.”

“I look forward to contributing to the compelling momentum I see at Denison,” said Bellani. “It’s galvanizing to be in on the ground floor of such a far-reaching plan that will effect every student on campus. The energy here is really irresistible.”

Bellani earned a bachelor of arts degree from State University of New York, Geneseo, a master of science from Western Illinois University and a doctor of education from University of Pennsylvania. He will be arriving in June.
