We are members of a greater community and we look for ways to contribute to its improvement, sustainability and success. We live out our commitment to one another other through a shared collection of values. Betsy Russo, executive assistant to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, illustrates one of those values, how we care for each other in community.

In 2020, Russo was nominated for Denison’s Supportive Operating Staff’s Employee of the Year. Her nominator shared these reflections about Betsy.

“Betsy is the first to offer help when someone needs it. When we have a project that requires help from as many people in the division as possible, she is always there to assist. She isn’t above helping with anything.”

“She’s generous. Her care continues as a member of the Denison Food Pantry Collection Committee where she helps collect food and money for the less fortunate of Licking County each year.”

“Her care stretches far beyond the hill and her duties with colleagues. If you’ve ever heard her speak to an alum on the phone you will hear her ask about their spouse, kids, and their day. She is a treasure to our Denison constituents near and far.”

Thank you, Betsy, for your continued care for our community! You are appreciated and we’re thrilled to spotlight you and your qualities this month.
