Hosted at Denison’s picturesque Ebaugh Pond, this outdoor workshop offers up to 20 participants an engaging introduction to observational landscape painting, grounded in the tradition of painting en plein-air.
Participants learn foundational techniques for painting from life while immersing themselves in nature. As the landscape unfolds before them, they are encouraged to slow down, observe deeply, and practice mindfulness through the act of creating.
The workshop bridges artistic expression with ecological reflection, fostering interdisciplinary connections between the visual arts and environmental awareness. It is open to students and community members of all skill levels. All materials are provided. The series is sponsored by the Visual Arts and Sustainability & Environmental Studies Departments.
