Andy Mozina is the author of the short fiction collection The Women Were Leaving the Men which was the 2008 winner of the GLCA New Writers Award for Fiction, and a finalist for the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction.

This collection received special mention in The Pushcart Prize, 2006 edition and was named a distinguished story in The Best American Short Stories 2005. His short stories have appeared in numerous literary magazines including Tin House, the Massachusetts Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, Fence, West Branch, Beloit Fiction Journal, and the Florida Review. He is also the author of Joseph Conrad and the Art of Sacrifice. Andy Mozina is associate professor of English and chair of the English Department at Kalamazoo College.
