Greensheet - September 2013

The GreenSheet newsletter, the Office of Sustainability's monthly newsletter gets you up to speed on Denison’s latest “green” efforts on campus.

Just a few highlights from September 2013's newsletter.

  • From the desk of the Coordinator - Peak Power Demand
A couple of weeks ago you probably received an email from Facilities Services asking you to reduce energy use -‐ especially during the first three weeks of September. Since then, I’ve received emails from you asking…why?

  • Commingled Recycling!
This year marks a big change in Denison Recycling. Thanks to the efforts of Barb Burgess and Mark Springer in Facilities Services, we are now able to recycle plastics #1 -‐ #7 as part of a larger move towards commingled recycling.

  • Campus Car Share Program
Getting off campus to explore Central Ohio can be a challenge if you don’t have transportation. The last few years, students and faculty have talked about bringing a car share service to Denison; now it’s a reality.

  • I Love Granville Initiative
The Denison Sustainability Fellows are continuing the “I Love Granville” campaign this year which promotes sustainability and encourages people to buy local to support the Granville community.
