Denison University announces that Christy Tostevin, former vice president of communications with L Brands, will assume the role of executive director for Denison’s University Communications division.
Tostevin has had nearly two decades of success with international fashion retail company L Brands, where she served most recently as vice president of communications. During that time she developed and executed strategic communications and culture programs to engage and activate audiences.
Denison University President Adam Weinberg said, “Christy is smart, talented, and committed to excellence. She is energized by everything we’re doing at Denison and has great ideas about how to continue to tell the Denison story in an authentic, transparent, and powerful way. As a first-generation college student from Ohio, she has a deep appreciation for the power of a college education. She shares our values, and wants to be part of the impact Denison has on individual students’ lives, and on the wider world.”
“I believe in the power of a liberal arts education, and I am a passionate advocate for the strong foundation it gives students for a successful and fulfilling life,” Tostevin said. “I’m thrilled to join Denison’s extraordinary team, which is putting the university at the forefront of advancing the liberal arts experience. I look forward to contributing to the university’s mission by sharing its stories and deepening connections and conversations with students, parents, alumni and the community.”
Built on a foundation of academic breadth, depth, and rigor, and lasting relationships, Denison unlocks the potential of students to be architects of their own lives. Students have opportunities from their first day to learn in small classes, work directly with faculty, conduct hands-on research, perform on stages and create in studios. Denison’s award-winning career exploration program redefines how liberal arts colleges prepare students for the professions. Core programs get students involved early and often, close skills gaps, connect students to alumni coaches, provide opportunities for internships, and support them as they launch post-Denison.
