Denison Art Space in Newark holds a closing reception for Licking County Ohio artist Michael Stickrod and Erin Kirwin, a local naturopathic doctor, as they end their four month residency.
Stickrod + Kirwin will collaborate on a large scale installation using materials from their Licking County home and environment, as well as creating a bar to serve teas sourced from wild plants of the forests and pastures where they live with their two children.
As facilitators, Stickrod + Kirwin will have open tea sessions throughout their residency at DASIN as a place to inspire dialogue with students and community. Stickrod + Kirwin will work with Denison faculty and students in Music, Studio Art, Biology, Creative Writing, Environmental Studies and Theatre classes as well as Wellness Center staff to create an interdisciplinary installation at Denison Art Space in Newark. Stickrod + Kirwin residency is made possible by Mellon’s Arts Across the Curriculum grant at Denison University.
