This fall, Licking County Ohio artist Michael Stickrod and Erin Kirwin, a local naturopathic doctor, will have a four month residency at Denison Art Space in Newark. They will be collaborating on a large scale installation using materials from their Licking County home and environment, as well as creating a bar to serve teas sourced from wild plants of the forests and pastures where they live with their two children. Join Stickrod + Kirwin as they begin their residency with an Introduction to THE HIVE.
As facilitators, Stickrod + Kirwin will have open tea sessions throughout their residency at DASIN as a place to inspire dialogue with students and community. Stickrod + Kirwin will work with Denison faculty and students in Music, Studio Art, Biology, Creative Writing, Environmental Studies and Theatre classes as well as Wellness Center staff to create an interdisciplinary installation at Denison Art Space in Newark. Stickrod + Kirwin residency is made possible by Mellon’s Arts Across the Curriculum grant at Denison University.
