Denison University’s 14th Human Rights Film Festival presents a screening of “Nalia and the Uprising.” This film combines animation with historical footage to tell the remarkable true story of the hidden journey of Naila Ayesh in the 1987 nonviolent Palestinian uprising known as the First Intifada. Faced with the difficult choice between freedom or family, Ayesh was able to embrace both by joining a underground network of Palestinian women who led the movement that placed this conflict on the world stage.
