In partnership with Columbus College of Art and Design’s Beeler Gallery, the Denison Studio Art Program, English Department and Queer Studies Program are excited to present an evening with the queer art collective, fierce pussy, and the individual art practices of Nancy Brooks Brody, Joy Episalla, Zoe Leonard and Carrie Yamaoka.

Since fierce pussy formed during the early part of the AIDS crisis in 1991, the collective has made provocative, politically charged work that began on the streets of New York and has since been on view at numerous museums, including MoMA PS1, New York; the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University; and the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, New York. Brody, Episalla, Leonard, and Yamaoka also have shown their individual works around the world, including Episalla’s recent exhibition at Galerie Joseph Tang, Paris; Brody’s upcoming group show at Hiram Butler Gallery, Houston; Leonard’s recent critically acclaimed mid-career retrospective, Zoe Leonard: Survey, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, which will travel to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles in November; and Yamaoka’s solo exhibition at Henry Art Gallery, University of Washington, Seattle, in 2019.
