The Tuesday Lunch Series welcomes Toni King, associate provost; Erik Farley, associate dean of students and director of multicultural affairs; and the Posse Foundation Staff presenting "The Posse Program and Denison: Pragmatic Opportunity or Utopian Ideal?”The Posse Foundation identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by traditional college selection processes. Colleges then partner with the Posse Foundation to award these students full tuition scholarships and the opportunity to pursue personal and academic excellence as members of supportive, multicultural teams—Posses—of 10 students. Now that Denison has had more than a decade of experience with the Posse Program it is time to reflect on Posse and Denison. Has this programmatic initiative been primarily a pragmatic opportunity? Or has it helped Denison to foster a utopian ideal? Open to emeriti faculty, faculty and staff.
