Shield our Watoto: Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse
Denison University welcomes advocacy group Shield our Watoto giving a presentation about the prevention of child sexual abuse.
Shield Our Watoto (SOW) is a non-profit organization that works to create a global dialogue among stakeholders about child abuse and molestation through education and empowerment and create a sustainable mechanism to implement established best practices that will allow children to live and develop in a safe environment. SOW works specifically in Tanzania and with Tanzanians in central Ohio to break down cultural barriers that perpetuate assault among children.
Please join founder Bhoke P. Mukami, SOW’s founder and executive director, for a discussion about the organization’s work, the cultural barriers they face, and ways that students can get involved.
