Campus Climate Watch Information
To the Campus Community:
The Office of Student Development, in association with the Campus Climate Team, maintains a Campus Climate Watch page that documents incidents that may shape the experience of Denisonians. The page presents incidents including student-to-student bias, harassment, assault, hazing, and other incidents of climate concern that have been reported to Campus Safety or Student Development. The page also provides aggregated reports on behaviors that may affect our campus. Incident reports do not directly identify the student impacted.
All members of our community may view the page at any time through the MyDenison portal, by searching for Campus Climate Watch or by selecting Campus Resources, then Campus Life, then Campus Climate Watch.
Please note that the CCW functions as an information log and is different from Community Alerts, which are sent out when (1) a crime is reported to Campus Safety, police or other campus authority and Campus Safety determines the report presents a serious or continuing threat to students and employees on campus, or (2) any significant emergency or dangerous situation presents an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees on the campus. All members of the community receive Community Alerts through email and, on an opt-in basis, by phone and text. These settings are managed through your MyDenison portal.
If you wish to report a possible bias incident, you may do so via the Blue Whistle on the MyDenison home page. The icon is located in the top right-hand corner above the search bar. Once on the Blue Whistle page, use the “Advocate CareNetwork Report form” on the page to report a concern for yourself or another student.
Jordan Beck ‘20 serves as the Student Chair of the Campus Climate Team and convenes monthly meetings. The most recent meeting was held on September 28 and the next is on October 26.
