At Denison, learning happens 24/7 — both in and out of the classroom. Perhaps surprisingly, some truly beneficial learning happens through employment in departments and offices across campus.

While campus jobs provide extra money for spending, they can be even more meaningful. Students learn job skills and knowledge that can help as they intern, graduate and head into their professions. They also will have the opportunity for mentorship under some of the finest professors, staff, and administration in the country. And student employers are important sources of recommendation letters, advice, and networks.

The student employment job market is competitive, so it makes sense to check in early if you are interested in working. You can search for a job through Handshake. Entering first-year students may access job postings once they’re registered for classes.

Federal Work Study

All Denison students, regardless of whether they qualify for Federal Work Study or not, are eligible for campus employment. If you have a Federal Work Study award in your financial aid package, your earnings will be paid out of federal funds. If you do not have a financial aid award or Federal Work-Study awarded in your financial aid package, your student employment earnings will be paid from university funds. Regardless, it is the student’s responsibility to seek out employment on campus.

Davis Summer Work Program

The Davis Program is a work program available to Denison students during the summer. Students are allowed to work up to 40 hours per week for 14 weeks, depending upon available assignments.
