Active Minds: Spreading Mental Health Awareness

Service & Awareness

Kristina Keidel is a psychology and communication double major and a proud member of her sorority at Denison University.

After battling depression and anxiety, Kristina discovered her passion for mental health awareness and joined the Denison University chapter of Active Minds her freshman year. Since becoming president of her chapter, Kristina has discovered her true passion for spreading mental health awareness across Denison’s campus and strives to empower others to fight the stigma that still lingers when it comes to mental health in general.

Denison’s chapter has faced many challenges but by holding its first fundraiser this past fall and sending representatives to the Active Minds National Conference, the chapter has been able to make an impressionable mark on the campus.

Upon graduating from Denison, Kristina hopes to continue her passion of empowering others and supporting mental health awareness across the country. Kristina is beyond excited to start her second term on the SAC and hopes to become a stronger and more independent leader while pursuing her passions for the things she loves.
