Whisler’s student wellness initiatives include several groups that meet weekly. Students are welcome to join these groups as any time.

SPECTRUM is a support group for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning. The group is intended to provide a safe space for students to discuss common experiences related to their sexual identity, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression.

THE PRODUCTIVITY CIRCLE is a group for students who would like to learn more skills to manage symptoms of ADHD and/or anxiety relating to academics. Students will learn strategies to increase success in academia such avoiding procrastination, managing time, and building new habits to improve overall wellness and productivity.

  • Tuesdays Weekly, 3:30-4:30 p.m
  • Location: Higley Lounge

NAVIGATING GRIEF is a supportive space for students experiencing grief and loss. Students learn coping skills to handle the impact of grief and reflect on their experiences with loss through guided discussion.

  • Wednesdays Weekly, 6:00 -7:00 pm
  • Location: Whisler Center for Student Wellness

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT DINNER CHATS is a place for international students to meet people, and share questions, frustrations, and experiences in a relaxed discussion setting. Topics that are relevant for internationals students such as homesickness, culture shock, coping with stress, social integration, relationship challenges, and understanding American classroom style, will be discussed.
