Co-curricular opportunities give you a chance to explore a new interest, create friendships over a shared passion, and to let off steam on an athletic field. With more than 160 student organizations, there’s bound to be something here that ignites a spark.
These organizations are also a great place to learn leadership skills and build knowledge and proficiency in areas that can be helpful in your professional life.
We believe that it’s a good thing to get involved in co-curricular activities – but to remember that your academics should be the focus of your education.
As Denison President Adam Weinberg says in his August 2019 welcome letter to students: “This means creating a culture where we value depth, commitment, and excellence, not busyness. We need to push each other to focus and place boundaries on how much we can take on. And to fully commit to one or two co-curriculars where we can go deep and develop our capacity to work with others to do things well.”
