Hour of Green Service
On Tuesday, October 3, the Office of Sustainability and Facilities Services will host Denison’s “Hour of Green Service.” We are asking for volunteers to join us in this community event to help spruce up our beautiful campus in advance of Big Red Weekend.
What will it entail? We will be pulling weeds, removing mulch volcanoes around trees, picking up trash, and generally cleaning up areas around key areas of campus.
What will I need to bring?. We will have gloves and tools available, but you may want to bring your own or be willing to get your fingers in the soil.
When and where exactly? October 3 from 3:00-4:30 (yes, that’s more than an hour, but we plan on time to get organized). We will meet at the Slayter Plaza (flagpole area).
Will this count as work time? Yes, for hourly employees, this will count as paid time. If you would like to participate, please coordinate with your supervisor so that critical services will remain available.
Please RSVP for the Hour of Service by clicking on this Green Volunteer Link so that we can plan accordingly.
While we don’t anticipate this being strenuous physical labor for anyone, you will be outside moving around – be aware of your own limitations.
Thanks in advance for your help and we look forward to seeing you!
