Denison’s big-city next-door neighbor, Columbus, saw some remarkable achievements in 2016.
Columbus, which has a population of more than two million people, was voted a “Best City to Live In,” a “Trending City,” the “Fastest Start Up City,” a great place for “Mid-Career Professionals,” and more.
Just 30 minutes from Granville, the John Glenn International Airport has been renovated and Amazon has opened a major hub only 15 miles from Denison’s campus.
In addition, per capita income is up 21.5% since 2010, and it is projected to continue to grow; $7.52 billion in capital investments have been made, projected to pass more than $11 billion in the not-too-distant future, and more than 121,000 jobs have been added to the local economy since 2010, again, more to come on that front.
Our students at Denison benefit hugely from the proximity of this economic powerhouse, while also enjoying the small-town pleasures of our idyllic home in Granville.
