Denison University’s 178th Commencement took place on Saturday, May 18. Watch the ceremony in its entirety including commencement keynote speaker Jennifer Garner ’94.
Leadership development conference as the launch program of a new initiative, The Denison EmpowHERment Experience Program (DEEP), which was established to explore and transform the leadership experience of women. This initiative defines leadership as:
The distinct ways in which leaders use their development of self-awareness and social identities to interact and shape the world around them. Leadership is implementing a vision within organizations and society with the intention of promoting holistic wellness and justice for self and others. This definition draws upon and integrates many definitions and approaches discussed in leadership theory and literature (Wren, 1995, Dugan 2017).
The EmpowHERment Experience seeks to translate the leadership character of women into action steps allowing attendees to be leaders within their student organizations, professional and secular sects. The EmpowHERment Experience is designed to bridge awareness to the art of leadership as an interdependent identity journey and prepare women with new skill sets as we examine and re-think the meaning of leadership at Denison University and beyond.
If you are a new student organization leader, seeking more information on creating a vision, or wanting to learn more about your leadership approach, you will definitely heighten your leadership capabilities at this experience. Join us for intimate discussions and panels. Breakfast, lunch and door prizes will be provided! Student, Staff and Faculty are all welcome to join us for this one-day experience!
