Denison Response to Hurricane Harvey

Service & Awareness
Hurricane Harvey

As you are aware, Hurricane Harvey is having a devastating impact on communities along the Gulf Coast. Denisonians are considering ways they can help those affected by the storm. Over the past few days, university staff members contacted students whose records indicate they have home addresses in the impacted states. We encourage other students who are from the area or who have family there to be in touch so that we can provide support.

An open meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 30 from 4:30-5:30 pm in the Shepardson College Room on the 4th floor of Slayter Union. University staff will be available as we discuss individual needs or concerns, available campus resources and next steps in supporting students. Students can contact me (see below) or others in the Dean of Students Office (Slayter 409) for referrals and resources.

We will also have information about how students can help those in need in affected areas. This information will be available at the open meeting, the Involvement Fair and afterwards at the Alford Community Leadership & Involvement Center (CLIC).
