The Community Leadership & Involvement Center (CLIC), home to more than 160 student-led organizations, is also home to Denison alumna, Trinidy Jeter ’04.

Jeter is back at Denison after earning her master’s degree from The Ohio State University, and serving as the Coordinator of Student and Campus Activities at Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She brings a knowledgeable perspective to an environment that fosters creativity, cooperation and leadership.

“I believe college is one of the most exciting and pivotal times of a person's life. I had great mentors and professors, members of the college community, who shared resources, stories and words of encouragement to help me learn more about life,” she says.

As the assistant director in CLIC, Jeter is responsible for providing support for student organizations, working closely with University Programming Council, campus-wide programming, and supporting student organizations. She is committed to creating experiences that build students’ affinity with Denison. One of her go-to tools for student leaders is the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator, which helps students learn more about themselves and their interactions with other student leaders.

“I collaborate with student leaders to implement campus traditions, develop new experiences to support student growth, and explore their personal definition of leadership”, says Jeter. “I help them put their personal concept of leadership into action as lifelong learners seeking to be active in their communities post graduation.”

I love what I do because it encourages people to be their best selves, learn their purpose and love their home away from home.

Matthew Vetter, director of the Alford Community Leadership & Involvement Center, notes, “Trinidy brings energy and a fresh perspective to supporting co-curricular programs and organizations. She is an innovator who enacts CLIC's vision to engage students as civic agents in their communities.”

While at Denison as a student, Jeter was involved in many campus activities, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., DCGA and the Black Student Union. She also served as a pre-orientation co-coordinator and Admission intern for three consecutive years.

“My Denison experience was wonderful. I was able to acquire experiences and skills I still reference to this day. Now, I am able to help create like experiences for future alumni,” says Jeter. “Denison has a rich history but is also very forward thinking as it relates to civic engagement, action and leadership development. I am excited to enrich Denison’s progressive vision for student development.”
