April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Service & Awareness

Even before SAAM was first nationally observed in 2001, advocates had been holding events, marches, and observances related to sexual violence during the month of April, sometimes during a week-long “Sexual Assault Awareness Week.”

This year’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) program calendar is convened by the Denison Coalition for Sexual Respect. Special highlights of this year’s program include: trainings on survivor support (Helping Hands), film/TV screenings, a book discussion, and a scavenger hunt for first year students. There are both virtual and in-person options available, so we hope you will join us!
