We are quickly approaching the end of your first semester of college (yay!) and coming up to your first college finals week. I know you all will be busy studying and working late into the night, so I wanted to pass along a little something to help encourage you to take care of yourselves as well.
You all will be getting stress relief kits filled with goodies! Specifically, each kit has:
- A mini-coloring book
- A packet of green tea
- A star-shaped stress ball
- A card of helpful stress management activities, as well as helpful resource numbers in case of crisis/emergency
Your CAs will be distributing your stress relief kits sometime this week.
Hopefully these items can help you to relax and unwind when you need a break from studying. Of course, coloring and drinking tea can be de-stressing — though be sure to also practice good sleep hygiene, stay hydrated, eat consistent, healthy meals, and incorporate some movement/activity throughout the day. Maintaining these basic routines can help manage stress during finals.
If you are experiencing high levels of stress, you can reach out to Whisler during one of the walk-in hours or after hours for crisis/emergency situations. During finals week (Dec 17-20), counseling services will have walk-ins from 8:30am-4:30pm.
