Denison is piloting a flat-rate approach for meal plans in 2023-24. All residential students will pay $7,700 each semester, which will cover meal plans and any type of housing (single, double, suite, apartment, etc.). This letter was shared with students on March 1, 2023, regarding 23-24 updates.

All residential students will be required to be on a meal plan, and meal plans are determined based on a student’s class year. See the frequently asked questions.

Meal Plans

First-Years:

All first-years will be on a 21 swipe per week plan, which can be used in Curtis and Huffman. In addition, they will have $150 flex dollars per semester to be used anywhere on campus ($50 of which can be used off-campus in Granville at participating locations).

Rising Sophomores and Juniors:

All sophomores and juniors will be on a plan with 15 swipes per week to use in dining halls (7 of which can be used as Meal Exchange in Slayter, Slivy’s or the Nest) and $835 flex dollars per semester to be used anywhere on campus ($100 can be used off-campus in Granville at participating locations).

Rising Seniors:

For seniors, the entirety of your meal plan is comprised of flex dollars. This gives seniors $3,000 per semester to use in Slivy’s, Slayter Market, Common Grounds, DFuse, late-night pop-ups, the Nest, dining halls, etc. Seniors can use up to $1,000 of flex dollars off-campus at participating restaurants or Ross’s IGA. Slivy’s will also increase the grocery items it stocks, including more meal kits (like Hello Fresh). This plan is designed to provide seniors the convenience of being able to use their flex dollars in as many locations as possible. We’ll continue bringing the popular farmer’s markets to campus so that seniors can use their meal plans to purchase fresh produce.

Flex Dollars in Granville:

As demonstrated above, all class years will be able to use part of their dining plan in Granville. This summer, we will share the list of local restaurants and grocery stores where you can use your meal plan.
