Updates & FAQs
Denison will conduct a Virtual Conferral of Degrees on Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m. ET. This special event will include a message from president Adam Weinberg, an official pronouncement of the graduation of the class of 2020, and more. Specific details about the event and how to participate will be shared soon.
Denison University is also working with a group of students to identify a date and plan the details of an in-person graduation celebration on campus in the future. More details will be shared when they are available.
Every graduate will receive a free cap, gown, and special Class of 2020 T-shirt which will be mailed (also free of charge) to your residence. In order to receive these items, graduates must visit the Bookstore and provide the mailing address for residence where they are currently residing (and select a T-shirt size). The Bookstore offers additional graduation memorabilia for purchase.
Senior Class Video
We are compiling a video of your favorite moments from your time on The Hill. Seniors, please submit photos for inclusion in the video by May 7. We will use as many as possible in the video, which we will share as part of the virtual Conferral of Degrees and also make available on YouTube for download by all seniors.
Diplomas and copies of the conferral program are being mailed to students’ address of record following the virtual conferral of degrees.
Academic honors tassels are being mailed to students following the virtual conferral of degrees along with diplomas and copies of the conferral program.
All graduates who ordered the free cap and gown will also receive a black tassel. If you would like the same red and white tassel that you received your first year, you can order it from the Bookstore.
If you’ve already purchased travel and lodging, please reach out to the issuing companies to see if they will be willing to work with you on cancellations and refunds. Numerous airlines and hotels are waiving cancellation fees at this time.
We are working with a group of seniors and monitoring the unfolding public health situation to determine a new date. Once we have confirmed the date, we will send a communication to seniors and their families.
