Parents as Partners for Student Success
One of the most valuable things parents can do to help a student with career planning is to listen: be open to ideas, try to help your student find information, and be nonjudgmental.
Get connected to the Knowlton Center as we work together to ensure that our students reach their career and graduate/professional school aspirations.
Although we publicize and market our services to students, we can be more effective if we partner with parents and family members to advocate for the importance of career preparation. We hope you will encourage your student to take advantage of the services we offer, by communicating the benefits of utilizing our office, even beginning during their first year at Denison.
In addition, you can stay connected to our office and what is going on through the following:
Stay up to date with happenings in the Center on via social media. Here you will find upcoming events, featured opportunities and career resources, in addition to viewing our weekly career email sent to all students, The Knowlton Note.
Follow the Knowlton Center blog, Denison@Work for career tips, resources, and advice for students, parents, and alumni.
On Switchboard you can connect with other Denisonians, students, alumni, parents, and friends. Switchboard is not careered specific, though many posts follow that theme. Many individuals post about relocation, getting to know other Denisonians in their city, or sharing information on a project or cause.
