Denison students get the internships, networks and skills they need to move into their chosen careers.
Pre-professional internship experiences give Denison students a competitive edge. Most students will identify – and even create – their own opportunities. The college also identifies internships and externship opportunities across our global community of alumni, parents, faculty and friends.
Denison is committed to helping each of our students find opportunities for global and national internships and externships, as well as pursuing paid research on campus as a summer research scholar. Our Radius program offers up to 80 internships per year, and we team up with our own extensive alumni and parent network to help our students explore the world of work.
Learning with your peers is a powerful tool in gaining career-ready skills. The college is developing a suite of summer fellowship programs for groups of student interns in metropolitan areas such as Columbus, Cleveland and Mumbai. In these programs, groups of five or more students participate in internships during the day, and then use the evenings and weekends to connect with alumni, parents and other friends of the college. During these events, they network and meet in sessions with people who provide advice and offer short seminars on profession-specific skills and workplace topics like ethics, leadership, and career-specific information.
Sometimes the most valuable learning opportunities are unpaid or low paying. Denison works to make sure that students of all economic backgrounds can take part in these potentially life-changing experiences by providing them with a potential stipend.
