This summer, Alyssia Adams ’18 pursued an internship through Medical Mutual as an appeals and grievances intern. Adams, a women's and gender studies and economics double major, landed the internship through the Knowlton Center's Handshake program as a part of the Summer on the Cuyahoga internship program. There, she spent two months working at an internship and spending her evenings exploring the professional, civic, and social offerings of the Cleveland area.
SOTC offers students challenging internships, community introductions, alumni connections and group housing for the summer. Adams participated along with the other 50-70 participating students from Denison, Ohio Wesleyan, Smith, University of Chicago, and Yale.
Denison students find that the alumni network in the Cleveland area is particularly robust and offers them the opportunity to connect with people in a myriad of fields.
