OCS welcomes new staff
In July, OCS welcomes Mary Aurora Grandinetti '10 who will work with us as a study abroad advisor and Olivia Geho '16 who will be our office assistant.
Mary Aurora is finishing her master's degree at the School of International Training (SIT) Graduate School in international education. She earned her B.A. from Denison University in 2010 in English writing. Her senior project, "Living With People," was supervised by English Professor Margot Singer. While an undergrad at Denison, she took an academic year abroad in New Zealand, where she studied New Zealand and Maori culture. Since graduating from Denison, she has worked as a refugee youth services coordinator with Catholic Charities and was a program support team leader for AmeriCorps.
Olivia comes to her position in the Off-Campus Study program as a presidential fellow. In May of 2016, she graduated from Denison summa cum laude with a B.A. in English writing. As a student at Denison, she worked with English Professor Regina Martin on "Literature and Professional Life: A Digital Life Stories Archive." They created a video archive of interviews with Denison English major alumni who explain how they built careers out of their English degrees, how their careers have evolved over time, and how literature has influenced their personal and professional lives. The project seeks to combat pervasive rhetoric discounting the value of the humanities, and English in particular, to the professional world.
As an assistant, Olivia writes stories about off-campus study, runs program events, and more.
We are excited to welcome both of them to OCS.
