RON BECKER is Associate Professor in the Department of Media, Journalism, and Film at Miami University of Ohio. He teaches various classes focused on the politics of representation, media history, gender and sexuality, and critical media theory. Dr. Becker is the program coordinator for Comparative Media Studies and an affiliate in American Studies and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies. He is the author of the book Gay TV & Straight America, and his work has appeared in How to Watch Television and Reading the Bromance: Homosocial Relationships in Film and Television.
