Prof. Heather Pool tapped for political expertise
Heather Pool, assistant professor of political science, recently was interviewed for the Columbus NPR show "All Sides with Ann Fisher" about the recent presidential election.
During the show, which discussed white populism and the future of American politics, Pool shared her insight about the historical significance of economic versus racial bonds that create populist movements.
Pool explained that we tend to think of liberalism as a unifying thing - we are all equal before the law, but this doesn't necessarily play out in real life.
Pool's research uses the resources of critical and normative political theory, sociolegal scholarship, race and gender scholarship, and American political development, to focus on how ideas, events, and institutions shape political identities.
