Narrative Journalism at Denison welcomes photojournalist Tariq Tarey to speak on “Refugee: An Exiled Generation” during Narrative Journalism Super Week. On November 7, 2019, Tarey will share his stunning photography as he explains high level refugee policy and what it feels like to be a refugee. He also plans to share how he works with this community and talk about his photographic process.

Tarey is currently the Director of Refugee Social Services at Jewish Family Services in Columbus, Ohio. He serves as Ohio’s New African Immigrants Commission and the Franklin County Board of Commissioner’s New American Advisory Council. Tarey is also a documentary photographer and filmmaker and has won multiple awards for his work.

Event is held at 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Barney Davis Boardroom and is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Please contact narrativejournalism@denison.edu with questions.
