Ben Jacoby '09 debuting on Broadway
Theatre and English major Ben Jacoby ‘09 will make his Broadway debut as Barry Mann in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.” Jacoby, who also minored in vocal performance, currently is playing “Raoul” in the touring cast of “Phantom of the Opera.”
During his four years at Denison, Jacoby took part in every Singer’s Theatre Workshop production and he returned in 2015 to lead a master class with Belinda Andrews-Smith, who coordinates vocal studies and directs the Singer’s Theatre Workshop classes.

Jacoby also holds a graduate degree in theatre from the University of California, Irvine. After earning that degree, he moved to Chicago to begin an acting career that encompasses plays, musical theatre and television.
His Denison career featured theatre performances in “Something’s Afoot,” “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” “Discovery of America,” “Rhinoceros,” “Fuddy Meers,” and “Fires in the Mirror.” With the Singer’s Theatre Workshop, Jacoby appeared in “The Tenth Anniversary Revue,” “The Gondoliers,” “Into the Woods,” “The Pirates of Penzance,” “Love and Controversy,” “Urinetown,” and “At the Corner of Broadway and Opera.” He also was a member of the Denison Chamber Singers and the Hilltoppers.
