12th Annual Bluegrass Festival

Fairs & Festivals

Denison University presents the 12th Annual Bluegrass Festival featuring The Dappled Grays and The Claire Lynch Band. In addition to concert performances on Friday and Saturday, there will be free workshops presented for bass, mandolin, guitar, fiddle, voice, contradance and traditional Appalachian dance.

The Dappled Grays have been called “Atlanta’s Bluegrass Band.” Its members are powerhouse musicians who combine straight-ahead bluegrass, progressive jazz, blues sensibilities, pristine vocals, and top-flight songwriting into a startlingly fresh and original sound.

Claire Lynch, long recognized and praised as a creative force in acoustic music, is a pioneer who continually pushes the boundaries of the bluegrass genre. She was the 2013 Female Vocalist of the Year for the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and a 2012 recipient of the United States Artists Walker Fellowship.
