Music Faculty Pete Mills headlines Columbus concert

Music Faculty Pete Mills and his quartet will headline a Columbus concert and talk about the history behind many of the songs on their playlist.

Music faculty and saxophone player Pete Mills knows a lot about jazz.

Growing up in Canada with a father who was a dedicated follower of the jazz greats of the day, Mills was steeped in jazz legends from an early age.

His encyclopedic knowledge will be tapped as he shares the stories behind the songs in a concert by the Pete Mills Quartet, on Sunday, August, 16 in Columbus. The band will do a variety of songs, including numbers from his latest CD, Sweet Shadow, released last year.

In an article in ThisWeekNews, Mills said, “”I know people like to know about music,” he said. “It gives it a richer deeper meaning.”
