Denison Gospel Choir: 'The True Colors of Christmas'

Performances

Denison's Gospel Choir will perform on Sunday, December 10, at 7 pm in Swasey Chapel. The choir is directed by Reverend Tim Carpenter.

A Q&A with Reverend Carpenter about Denison's unique Gospel choir experience.

Q:What is your favorite part of directing Gospel Choir?

A:I love seeing such a diverse group of individuals laying aside their differences to come together to present such a joyful and positive message through song.

Q:What is the philosophy of the class?

A:I do not know if I could truthfully say that the class has an intentional philosophy. The class offers everyone the opportunity to participate in the art of singing while also allowing some to connect on a spiritual level with their personal inner beliefs.

Q:How does it feel to work with both students and community members?

A:I feel blessed to work with the students here at Denison. Their enthusiasm and energy inspire me. I am humbled by our community members who have joined us. I recognize that they have chosen to spend two hours out of their week surrounded by students some of which could be their grandchildren! They also provide a certain stability to our family.

The concert is free and open to the public.
