Students present at Mathematics Conference
Tiancheng Zheng '17 and Aixin Li '18, presented talks on their research on non-standard logics as well as their research on quantum computing and game theory at the Forty-fourth Annual University of Miami Mathematics Conference on September 23, 2016. Li presented the talk “Indeterminacy and Dual Set Logics.” Zheng presented the talk “Playing the Monty Hall Game on Quantum Circuits.” The talks were given as part of the Pi Mu Epsilon Conference held concurrently with the Miami Mathematics Conference held in Oxford, Ohio. Li and Zheng carried out research in both areas over the past two summers under the direction of Professor Michael Westmoreland in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Their work in the summer of 2016 was supported by the Anderson Summer Research Assistance Endowment and their work in the summer of 2017 was supported by the Foundational Questions Institute.
