The third UnKnot Conference will be held this summer at Denison University from July 31-August 03. This gathering will serve as a satellite conference to MathFest 2016 being held in nearby Columbus, OH.
UnKnot III is aimed at undergraduate faculty and students who are interested in knot theory and research on knot theory. Keynote speakers include Colin Adams, Jason Cantarella, Louis Koffman, Laura Taalman and Lisa Traynor.
In addition to plenary talks and invited half-hour talks, 15 minute contributed talks by students as well as faculty members will be scheduled. We hope you will consider speaking. Talks can be either research or exposition. We will begin accepting abstract submissions in early March. In addition to talks about current research, there will be a panel discussion on open problems that are approachable by undergraduates.
Through an NSF grant, we have funding to help offset the cost of travel to the conference for students as well as a large number of faculty members. Students include current undergraduates or graduate students who did undergraduate knot theory research or who are interested in doing research with undergraduates at some point.
