Rachel Loper '13 Chairs UN Panel on Reproductive Rights

Rachel Loper '13, a cum laude Denison graduate with degrees in education and German, is a Regional Academy on the United Nations (RAUN) Scholar. She will chair a panel discussion on “Ensuring Access to Sexual and Reproductive Rights: A discussion of reproductive health & rights, informed decision, sex education, contraceptive use, child marriage, forced marriage and female genital mutilation,” at a United Nations conference in Vienna on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018.

Loper is currently completing her Masters degree in Advanced International Studies at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. Her thesis will focus on state development and women’s economic empowerment. Her interests are development, education, linguistic diversity, and women’s issues with a geographical focus on Asia.

After graduation at Denison, Loper was chosen for a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to both Germany and Austria. She opted to teach in Austria.
