The moon is the moon is the moon
Anneleen Keppens is a choreographer, dancer from Belgium. She and her dance company will be visiting Denison to perform ‘The moon is the moon is the moon’. This dance is a trio that is built up and then deconstructed. The building blocks that make the choreography are place one upon another layer after layer until they give shape to an organic trio in which three individual bodies relate to each other in several ways. They make eye contact. They share weight. They look for physical, spatial and rhythmical relationships. Then, the trio is slowly dismantled and erased.
The performance is not a narrative, but places dance and its grammar at the center. This grammar, the arsenal of movement language, is more than a technical matter. The grammar itself has an expressive force.
