Dr. Mark Ward '99 Recipient of Statistics Award

Denison Mathematics and Computer Science major Dr. Mark Daniel Ward ’99, of the Department of Statistics at Purdue University, is the recipient of the 2016 Mu Sigma Rho William D. Warde Statistics Education Award for his outstanding accomplishments in the field of undergraduate statistics education. Mu Sigma Rho is the national statistics honorary society. Dr. Ward has been the Undergraduate Chair of Statistics at Purdue since 2008. He also organizes the NSF-funded Purdue Statistics Living Learning Community. He is a Fellow of the Purdue University Teaching Academy, whose mission “is to provide leadership and serve as a catalyst to enhance and strengthen the quality of undergraduate, graduate, and outreach teaching and learning.”
