Jacqueline Gerling '05 director of communications
Cleveland Metroparks has named communication major Jacqueline Gerling '05 as its new director of communications.
Gerling will serve as the lead media relations contact and manage both internal and external communications, the Metroparks said in a news release.
The Cleveland native has “nearly a decade of experience leading marketing communications, public relations and social media at an executive level,” Metroparks said.
Most recently, she worked at Cleveland marketing and advertising agency Arras Keathley. Previously, Gerling served six years as a director of communications for the state of Missouri and Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon.
“Jacqueline understands the nuances of working in public service, which is a great asset to our organization,” said Kelly Manderfield, the Metroparks’ chief marketing officer, in a statement. “It's an exciting time to have her onboard as we approach our centennial celebration. Her role will be instrumental in sharing the Cleveland Metroparks story.”
Gerling began her career as a broadcast journalist for the ABC and FOX affiliates in central Missouri. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Denison University.
