A Colorful Summer!
Summer is drawing to a close and twenty-three summer research students are finishing experiments, analyzing data and putting the final touches on their posters for the fall poster symposium. Students worked alongside nine faculty mentors in individual and collaborative projects across the different specialties of chemistry and biochemistry.
Throughout the summer, student researchers met to present their work at department lunches, groups meetings, and Lisska Center research dinners. Students also gathered for some fun outside the lab. Returning students will find our labs look a little more colorful as researchers, TA’s, and faculty sport their freshly tie-dyed lab coats. Great fun was had by all in using the adsorption of dyes to affect the light absorption properties of our lab wear. A special thanks to the Lisska Center for Scholarly Engagement for helping to sponsor this event!
