6th Annual Mole-A-Thon
One of the most famous numbers in chemistry is Avogadro’s number, 6.02 x 10^23. Thus October 23rd has come to be known as Mole Day to celebrate the number of atoms or molecules in a mole. To help celebrate the occasion the Denison Chemical Society (DCS) sponsored its annual 6.02 K run/walk affectionately known as the Mole-A-Thon. This year fifty three chemists and biochemists came out to enjoy the 6th Annual Mole-A-Thon and raise money for the American Chemical Society’s Scholars Fund. Over the years, the Mole-A-Thon has raised over $1400 towards national ACS scholarships for students from backgrounds underrepresented in the chemical sciences.
