Any Licking County resident over 30 years of age may become a Denison University Community Scholar. A Community Scholar may enroll in only one non-credit course per semester. There is no limit to the number of semesters for which a scholar may enroll. Registration is on a space-available basis.


Denison's Neuroscience Concentration is designed to offer students an interdisciplinary perspective on the nervous system and behavior, and to provide students with the opportunity to obtain a diverse focus that both complements and broadens the major. Students wishing to pursue the Neuroscience Concentration are strongly encouraged to meet with a Neuroscience faculty member very early in their Denison careers to carefully plan their course of study.

Upon reinstatement, Denison expects that you will return to good academic standing by the end of no more than two semesters. This means that: 1) You must earn above a 2.0 each semester, and 2) By the end of two semesters at Denison, your cumulative GPA must improve to a 2.0 or above. This worksheet is designed to help you determine what grades you will need in order to return to good academic standing in this time.

Up to 24 members of the Class of 2019 will leave campus for a nearby retreat center with upperclass students and faculty advisors to explore how contemplative practices can enhance the college experience. Along the way, they'll make new friends, establish personalized patterns of thinking and doing, and learn how mindful practices can help sustain a vibrant college experience.

We believe providing accurate information, maintaining a supportive community, and enforcing policies and laws to be the most effective method of addressing alcohol and drug abuse. Denison is committed to the health and safety of all students and employees, and to an environment which promotes the academic mission of the University. The federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989 require that Denison University distribute this Alcohol and Drug policy information to all students, staff, and faculty on an annual basis.

Students who are currently enrolled and are completing the FAFSA will be asked: “Have you been convicted for the possession or sale of illegal drugs for an offense that occurred while you were receiving federal student aid?” Students who answer “Yes” will be asked an additional series of questions to determine if the conviction affects their eligibility for federal student aid.
