    Full Description: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry welcomes Tina Henkin presenting "Flipping the switch: Regulation of bacterial gene expression by riboswitch RNAs." Henkin is Professor of Microbiology and Robert W. and Estelle S. Bingham Professor of Biological Sciences at The Ohio State University. Her research focuses on gene regulation and regulatory RNAs, with a focus on riboswitch-mediated regulation in Gram-positive bacteria. Among other honors, she is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and co-winner of the National Academy of Sciences Pfizer Prize in Molecular Biology for her work on riboswitch RNAs. Free and open to the public.

    Full Description: The Department of Theatre presents 'The Malvolio Project' by Betty Shamieh, Jonathan R. Reynolds Playwright-in-Residence. This devised experimental theatre project is a sequel to "Twelfth Night," centering on the character of Malvolio. After becoming a war hero and personal henchman to the King of Illyria, the newly knighted Malvolio returns to seek vengeance on a cast of characters who once tormented him. Volina, the serious-minded teenage daughter of Viola and Orsino, falls madly in love with Malvolio. He wrongly believes the young beauty is making fun of him, as Volina repeatedly tries to confess her passion for him. During the course of the play, Volina teaches Malvolio how to risk loving again and how success is often the best revenge. Free to Denison students. Ticket prices are $8 for general admission, $5 for senior citizens, and $4 for students. For reservations, contact the box office at 740-587-6527.
